How do we navigate this?!
Good Morning, Beauties!
Today we are going to address the massive pendulum we are riding which is body confidence.
On one end are diet culture, filters, and the idea that if you're not perfect you are unworthy. One the other is body positivity without regard to health or long-term physical well-being.
I don't know about you, but my head is about to explode🤯. We've gone from measurements being part of your identity to just love it all no matter what and it doesn't matter what size you are. How do we navigate this?! Are we just supposed to let ourselves go and love whatever comes of it?
I just finished Believe IT! by Jamie Kern-Lima (excellent read btw❤️) and near the end of the book, she explains that she truly believes her rosacea is beautiful. She holds to her faith that God made her exactly the way He needs her to be. Without it, she wouldn't have created IT cosmetics, a company she used to connect with real women and make them feel seen and loved.
I believe this is where we need to try to land. We all have flaws and our size should not make us feel inferior in any way. We can always improve and to love our bodies is to take care of them. Moving and eating well is essential to performance, which is what we were put on this earth to do. Some of our performances require our imperfections.
I am not here to push my beliefs but to hopefully encourage you. I believe we are all "fearfully and wonderfully made".
"I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made....." Psalms 139:14
P.S. Fearfully translates into to respectfully🥰
