Get Outside!
Good morning!
Now that we are into daylight savings time let's look at the benefits of being outside and natural light.
1. Vitamin D levels go up!
Vitamin D is not actually a vitamin but a hormone that is beneficial for your bones, heart, brain and even helps protect against cancer. It is absolutely essential for your body and is created when your skin is exposed to sunlight. Harvard Health suggests 15 minutes of sun exposure a few times a week.
2. Being outside can improve your focus.
Research is showing that children with ADHD have better focus after a short walk in nature.
3. Being close to nature improves your ability to heal.
Researchers have discovered that patients exposed to green space, even through a window, healed faster and needed less medication.
To summarize, being outdoors is hugely important for our physical and mental well-being. The most important being the first light of the day. So grab A cup of coffee and step outside for a couple of minutes and have a wonderful, happy day!
